How important is an internet connection to your business?

It was not that many years ago that most small business’s didn’t have decent broadband.

In order to have a good quality reliable internet connection at a half decent speed meant having a dedicated leased line from BT.

Now these lines were expensive, we’re talking thousands of pounds a year in most cases.

Fast forward to 2014 and broadband is fast and far more reliable, however there are still companies using  expensive leased lines when they could be using far less expensive connections and even bonding lines together to get the speeds both up and down that they require.

The title of this blog post was about how important connectivity is to your business.
I ask this as I have been in offices up and down the country and seen what happens when the internet goes down.

People grind to a halt, productivity dives and in some cases business is lost as a result.
Ask yourself this question:

How long could your business last without a broadband connection?

Ok, How about this one;

How much money would your business lose if you had no broadband for 48 hours?

So much relies on connectivity these days, email, backups and even phone systems.

Here at Connect-it we work with our clients to ensure that they have adequate provisions in place to ensure that in the event this happens they either have a backup solution or plans in place.

Having a 2nd backup line or even a bonded line in place is not as expensive as you might think and in terms of cost vs risk it’s a no brainer. It could be even a pay as you go sim card for 3G or 4G access in your router.

So if you would like to discuss your current broadband setup and your backup plans then why not drop us a line at info@connect-it.co or give us a call on 08456 885112
